Matthew Gibfried MD

Dr. Matthew Gibfried practices psychiatry and internal medicine and has over 21 years' experience in the medical field. He completed his medical school, internship, and residency in internal medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine.  He completed a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at St. Louis University School of Medicine. Besides having an office at Therapy Nest he is a traveling psychiatrist that helps those in rural settings such as Jefferson county. 

Dr. Gibfried is first author of a text entitled “Clinical Case Studies in Long-Term Care Psychiatry: Navigating Common Mental Health Challenges in Geriatric Care”.  The book is to be published through Cambridge University Press in the Fall of 2024.  

Dr. Gibfried is actively involved with teaching medical students, residents, and fellows through the Department of Psychiatry at St. Louis University, where he is an adjunct professor. 

When not working, Dr. Gibfried enjoys time with his family which includes a 9-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son. He enjoys playing the piano and cooking.
