If you've found your way here, chances are life has been feeling heavy lately. Maybe your child has been through something no child should have to experience. Maybe your teen seems anxious, withdrawn, or overwhelmed. Or perhaps you're a young adult trying to make sense of experiences that still seem to follow you long after they happened.
Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you came.
I know how vulnerable it can feel to reach out for help. My hope is that from the very first conversation, you'll feel welcomed, accepted, and never judged. Therapy should be a place where you don't have to pretend everything is okay—a place where you can simply show up as you are. For nearly twenty years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside children, teens, young adults, and families during some of life's hardest moments. I've learned that healing rarely happens because someone gives us all the answers. It happens when we finally feel safe enough to be curious about our story, understood without judgment, and supported by someone who genuinely
believes healing is possible.
That belief is at the heart of everything I do
With a career spanning nearly a decade in child welfare and clinical social work, Laura provides a specialized safe place for youth (ages 3–26) navigating life’s most difficult experiences. Her practice focuses on building inner coping and resilience by enhancing bodily awareness and active curiosity, ensuring that healing isn’t just a cognitive process, but a physical one.

I work with children beginning around age three, adolescents, and young adults through age 26. I also partner closely with parents and caregivers because I know healing doesn't happen in isolation.
When families feel supported together, lasting change becomes possible.
Laura also has Specialized Sexual Behavior Work with Extensive experience facilitating therapy for children and adolescents with inappropriate and illegal sexual behaviors.
No two people heal the same way. Some children need to play before they can talk. Some teens need someone who will simply sit with them until they're ready to open up. Some young adults are trying to understand how childhood experiences continue to shape the relationships and challenges they face today.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Outside the therapy office, you'll usually find me somewhere outside.
I rescue senior Saint Bernards (which definitely means lots of fur and drool), care for Bearded Dragons, spend time kayaking and hiking, search for interesting rocks while rockhounding, and enjoy tending native Missouri plants that support Monarch butterflies. I'm also a lifelong fan of science fiction and fantasy books.
Nature has always been one of the places where I feel most grounded, and I love helping clients discover the places, people, and experiences that help them feel grounded too.
Laura Is licensed in both Missouri and Illinois.
