Meet Carol Jo
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. Throughout my adult years, I realized my learning experiences were preparing me for being a therapist. In grad school, I learned about empathy. In my teaching career, I learned about humanistic education where I became aware I was student-centered. In my Gestalt training, I learned the importance of being in the moment. In my Menninger training I learned how problems travel down in generations. Lastly in my therapeutic career I realized that I enjoyed the interaction with clients and noticed that I gained energy in the time I spent with them.
Today I bring to you 21 years of experience in this role of therapist. I marvel at the insights my clients can have. I feel silent satisfaction when clients demonstrate bravado and set necessary boundaries in their relationships. I am shocked to hear about the hurts individuals have experienced at the hands of others, and I feel joy when a client achieves a desired goal. I consider my approach to be eclectic drawing upon not only my own experience/ intuition but the expertise of masters in the profession like Sue Johnson, Les Greenburg and Marsha Linahan to name a few.
